“Best Hamburgers in Santa Clara County”

I enjoy a hamburger about once a quarter. I’ve checked out places they never measure up to Clarke’s. You get a large hamburger and can add any extra ingredients. This place is always busy, inside or outside. This place is a landmark in Mt. View, they have been in Mt. View for at least 50 years.

“Mountain View Classic”

Clarke’s has been at this location since 1950’s and we have been coming here for years. I am not a burger person but my husband is a Clarke diehard. The decor is not fancy; a old craftsman house converted into a restaurant with booth seating. The smell of years of grilling burger penetrates every single nooks of this place.
The burger is made of quality meat and no frill. A big condiment bar for whatever you want to add. Compared to In’n Out, the burger here has a slight smoky flavor. If you like to build your own burger, don’t waste your time at the Counter, come here instead.

“Great Funky Burger Place”

Clarke’s was a great find on our last trip to the Bay Area. We were looking for lunch before a hike, and found this on Google Maps (usually not helpful). We got there just as they opened at 11:00. The cheeseburger was excellent: cooked exactly right and TASTY. I don’t know why that should be something exceptional, but I don’t know how many times I’m spent $10 for a burger that tastes meh! I’m not talking about the crap you put on the burger, but the meat itself. It should TASTE GOOD!!! And it does at Clarke’s. The malt was OK, but the fries were very good. The place had a cool hippy vibe that really made us feel at home. I have family in the area, so we’ll be back.

“Laid back, casual and fresh”

Great little place offering burgers, hot dogs, grilled chicken and fries, plus other charcoal grilled goodies. Fresh lettuce and tomatoes, condiment bar. Guacamole burger was good too. Super casual, so don’t dress up. Breakfast only served on weekend mornings. A bit expensive for burgers but considering the location and the area, it’s probably typical. We would definitely return!

“Old fashion hamburgers”

I haven’t been to Clarke’s in ages but was able to stop by to get one of their Clarke’s burgers with fries. It was as good as ever and I am glad I stopped off to try one again.

“OMG! Burgers and shakes to die for!”

IOn El Camino Real in Mountain View. Don’t miss the chance to taste the best burgers and shakes on the planet. Unassuming, reserved, you’ll drive by if you’re not ‘in the know’. It looks like a dive, because it has a loyal, local following that loves great burgers and shakes. My weakness is a traditional cheeseburger, with cheddar, and a vanilla malt. No bacon, no guacamole, or barbque sauce for me, although they have those, and more! Simple. Perfection.Don’t drive by and miss your chance…

“Burgers as Comfort Food”

Needed a quick dinner after a long flight. Chose Clarke’s based on reputation as best burgers in Mountain View. The atmosphere is very basic with nothing fancy. Order at a counter, pick up order when your name is called. Burgers come with a tomato slice other toppings and condiments on a condiment bar. We all had 8 oz cheese burgers – each was hot with the cheese nicely melted. Had a hearty taste from the searing on the grill. The fries were hot and firm with a nice taste. The burgers were very good and reminded me of how poor the fast food offerings really are. Clarke’s burgers are the real deal.

“Unique Mountain View Classic”

Old time burger joint. Hamburgers and ribs are fantastic. Building is very casual. Love the garlic fries, sweet potato fries, and onion rings. In door, out door seating that is rustic and cozy. Friendly staff.
